Former Tooth & Nail Records rock band Project 86 is officially on their own again and are looking to their fans for help in funding their next studio album. With plans to record in January in hopes for a summer release, Project is offering all kinds of incentives for those willing to pitch in some money in advance (while most of the cheaper packages are about the cost of most preorder bundles), and as we type this up, their Kickstarter is already fully funded. About this project
After 16 years, 7 full length albums, 2 EP's, and 3 DVD's P86 is about to begin a new chapter. We are headed back into the studio in January to begin recording our 8th full-length album. After being on both major and indie labels over the years we are excited to be venturing out on this project independently. With this campaign we can offer incredible incentives in exchange for your investment.Our band has been blessed with some of the most enthusiastic and loyal fans in the world, and its because of you we have been able to have a 16-year career. It is because of you that we continue and because of you that this record will be released.
The freedom to record, market, and distribute this album (and to work directly with our fans to partner in its creation) without any outside control makes us incredibly stoked for this project. However, with this freedom comes greater responsibility. We will incur many costs on the front end to pay for studio time, engineers, producers, packaging, mixing, and mastering. That is not to mention marketing, distribution, manufacturing, and touring.
We are setting a goal for the basic funds needed to fairly pay those working on our album, for studio fees and to help us with marketing and distribution costs. Anything over that will go towards touring costs.
